We are currently seeking a motivated, career and customer oriented Senior Network Engineer to join our team to begin an exciting and challenging career with Unisys Federal Systems.

The Senior Network Engineer is an experienced IT specialist who provides technical and operational management support to senior management. Consults with management on project design/development needs. Manages projects of moderate scope or complex projects under senior direction associated with our Network environment including but not limited to Wireless systems, Route/Switch, and CM.

Active member of the network services team to help expand the wireless network with new constructions, and replacing wireless access points. Be the technical point of contact for all network outages and escalations. Responsibility for hardware maintenance and replacement strategies

Network application support for client/server applications

Level 3 helpdesk troubleshooting

Cisco Wireless Experience

Exposure to Cisco NX-OS required.

Enterprise I.T. experience strongly preferred.

CCNA highly recommended.

LAN troubleshooting skills (switching, ARP, etc.).

Excellent troubleshooting skills, solid TCP/IP knowledge.

Various 802.11 wireless network standards, wireless security mechanisms, wireless design principles, RF technology, and wireless network control systems, with a primary on Cisco. – 7+ years.

The design and solutions deployment of resilient, high-speed, Enterprise network segments. Both, wired and wireless. – 7+ years

The use of wireless network planning and survey tools, such as AirMagnet, Ekahau, Tamograph Site Survey, etc. – 7+ years

The use of Wireshark packet analyzer to diagnose network performance problems. 7+ years.

LAN technologies (GigabitEthernet, PoE, link aggregation, CDP, ARP, VLAN’s & trunking) – 10+ years.

Strong time-management and project-management skills.

Exceptional communication and customer service skills.

Ability and interest to keep current on IT technology.

Results-driven.

Passion to make a difference to the business.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree related to Information Systems or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years total Information Systems experience
  • Minimum 4 years of Wireless experience
  • Minimum 8 years of Route Switching, with experience with Cisco Hardware
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in post-sales engineer experience for IT infrastructure, Network, Security technologies and products.
  • More than 8 years’ experience in the Network industry
    Networking consulting, service, implementation and operation experience preferred
  • Knowledge and experience in Routing, Switching, Wireless, SDx, and Network automation
  • Knowledge of competitive Vendor Solutions
  • CCIE preferred

Experience in creating network diagrams (Microsoft Visio), and general documentation 5+ years
