Within this role you will be estimating all elements of project cost including labour (manual and non-manual), materials, construction equipment, subcontracts, supplies, consumables, expenses, operating costs, contingency, escalation, program risk, and the like.
Cross-discipline application in one or more estimating disciplines including Civil / Structural / Mechanical / Electrical / Instrumentation.
Gathering, calculating and compiling data for use in developing all types of estimates, utilizing the AECOM estimating systems and processes.
Working with technical drawings, specifications, work breakdown structures, charts of accounts and published data used in preparing estimates.
Performing duties such as labour take-offs, material take offs, compilation of historical data, and the like.
Preparing tender bid packages and analysis of material and or subcontractor quotations.
Preparing or assisting in the preparation of project and discipline estimate summaries.
Recognizing how various processes/project actions and assumptions may impact estimates.
Leading estimate reviews and attends site visitations.
Developing industry best practices regarding estimates (types, supporting information, techniques/methodology, and the like).
Developing a basic understanding of each of AECOM’s organizational units.
Adhering to and applying AECOM’s health, safety, and environment policies and procedures.
Conforming to AECOM’s core values and applies administrative bulletins and other company standards.
Working toward alignment of customer and AECOM objectives.
Degree in Construction, Engineering, and or demonstrated equivalent combination of education, training, and related field experience.
Several years of working experience in heavy industrial Construction and or Engineering industry is an asset.
At least a basic level of understanding of estimating terminology, measures, concepts and principles for preparing estimates.
Attention to detail and applies quality assurance techniques to each assignment.
Demonstrating consistency and utilizing clear judgment.
Strong team player must be able to build collaborative relationships with others.
Demonstrating energy, commitment on self development, and working towards continuous improvement.
Proficient with navigating and the interpretation of project drawings and specifications.
Proficient with the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Previous Energy, Oil and Gas experience is an asset.
