Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a Technical Editor in Dahlgren, Virginia to perform writing and editing of technical documentation as well as word processing and formatting using Microsoft Office Suite. Responsibilities may include:

  • Interfacing with technical professionals in the writing, editing, and publication stages of various types of documents

  • Developing writing plans and outlines

  • Assisting in the development of supporting materials such as illustrations and tables

  • Assisting in collecting and organizing information for preparation of technical manuals, electronic technical manuals, training materials, installation guides, instructions, and reports

  • Maintaining and updating documents as necessary

  • Gathering, analyzing, and composing technical information

  • Conducting research and ensuring the use of proper technical terminology

  • Translating technical information into concise documents utilized by technical and non-technical personnel

  • Performing all other duties and tasks as assigned

Minimum Requirements

  • Four (4) years of experience in writing, editing and managing technical documentation

  • Must be able to format, structure, write, edit and finalize technical instructions

  • Excellent written communication skills; working knowledge of word-processing and integrated software applications

  • Excellent organization skills, and the ability to perform detail-oriented work are required

  • The selected candidate must possess the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance
