AECOM Peru is in need of a Health, Safety & Security Supervisor, to support the Lima Airport design, expansion and renovation project.
Essential functions of the position include but are not limited to the following:
The ideal candidate will be tasked with understanding the client, project and Peruvian regulatory established site safety protocols, procedures, Accident Prevention Program and health and safety management systems and culture for an active design and construction site.
Support the development of new and implementation of existing construction safety standards and expectations.
Provide high quality site safety overview on behalf of the client of contractor and subcontractor health and safety management and site safety culture.
Constantly assess, review and influence contractor and subcontractor compliance with relevant safety legislation, best practice and expectations using established safety inspection and observation programs.
Maintain an extremely high level of communication with all construction safety stakeholders to communicate and integrate safety expectations to the construction team.
Is aware and responsible for complying with Safety as per AECOM’s and project specifics requirements and policies.
Provides guidance regarding the Peruvian Health, Safety & Security regulations and requirements. Responsible on site for establishing the clearance permits, after performing adequate risk analysis and making sure that proper policies, equipment and procedures are in place.
Responsible for changing construction safety culture through human performance methods and leading indicators.
Drive zero-incident safety culture across multiple projects.
Assist with development of and review of pre-job hazard assessments.
Develop and provide site specific safety orientation to client staff, contractors and subcontractors working on the project/program.
Develop or assist with development of accident or injury investigation program for all incidents, accidents, near misses that happen on the project and upload to reporting system.
Perform daily site inspections, documenting observations and making corrections immediately when necessary.
Build strong working relationships and collaborate with contractors and subcontractors.
Review all safety documentation/reports for accuracy and completeness.
Provide assistance developing and review applicable required safety training.
Manage site specific safety training documents and document training completion.
Perform mandatory inspections –PPE, Fall Protection, LOTO audits, etc.
Bachelor’s degree in Health, Safety, Security & Environmental studies or Environmental Engineering comparable university studies
8+ Years in construction and industrial safety experience or equivalent combinations training and related experience
NEBOSH/OSHA, OSHA-10 Construction Safety, OSHAS 18001-2007 Security Systems and Health , ISO 14001-2004 Environmental Systems. Expert Knowledge of construction methods and practices, local safety and environmental law and regulation
Expert in recognition of unsafe conditions, practices or behaviors, and to take appropriate corrective action measures.
Effective interpersonal and communication skills are required.
Ability to clearly express thoughts both verbally and in writing.
Proficient in use of personal computer including basic office soft applications such as: e-mail, word, processing, or accounting
Strong skills in written and spoken communication in English and Spanish
Flexibility to work, a positive attitude, a willingness to learn
Experience with major airport design, renovation and construction projects is ideal.
