Job Summary

AECOM is searching for a talented Mechanical Engineer to join our Buildings + Places business unit out of our Kitchener office.

Major Responsibilities:

The Mechanical Engineer will:

  • Be a key member of the mechanical design team for design and construction of various facilities;

  • Provide conceptual design at the early stages of the project and developing the concept to high quality detailed design coordinating with all disciplines;

  • Perform calculations, conduct design drawing reviews, and field investigations;

  • Engineering and design for various facilities;

  • Write/edit mechanical specifications;

  • Provide mark-ups and review of design and drafting;

  • Prepare specifications, contract documents, and prepare engineering progress reports;

  • Ensuring design conforms with all applicable codes and client standards;

  • Travel to the construction sites to conduct Mechanical inspections and prepare reports.

  • Perform some drafting assignments utilizing Revit: plan, sections, elevations, details, construction documents for review and approval.

Minimum Requirements

Minimum Requirements :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering;

  • Registered P.Eng.

  • Minimum 10 years of progressively responsible applicable experience;

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Demonstrated written and verbal English communication skill proficiency effectively communicating complex engineering issues;

  • Well organized, self-directed work habits with a demonstrated ability to prioritize and schedule tasks managing multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic environment.
