Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a Senior Project Manager who will be reporting to the Department Manager. This position will have overall responsibility for the design and coordination of technical issues among various disciplines on transportation projects involving highways, bridges and transit/rail structures and facilities. Depending on the scope, size and nature of the project, the position will either be assigned to the Overall Project Manager or function as the Project Manager.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design of projects from condition inspection and concept development, structural analysis through development of final contract documents

  • Provide technical support during the construction phase

  • Direct a Team of engineers towards development of the design and preparation of contractual deliverables

  • Coordinate the technical content of the project with various disciplines and supervise the subconsultants

  • Ensure the quality of the technical documents including responding to client’s comment

  • Interface with clients at meetings to discuss and coordinate the design

  • Support the marketing activities by development of proposals

  • Manage and lead the overall project including technical, financial, schedule, and client satisfaction

  • Advise senior management of the project status on a regular basis

  • Establish scope, work plan and work schedule and ensure this is communicated to the Project Staff and Department Managers

  • Comply with company’s safety awareness program, office and/or field safety policies

  • Manage groups of engineers, designer and/or specialists with minimal guidance or supervision

  • Assure conformance with contractual obligations by ensuring that contract documents are reviewed and approved prior to release to the client

  • Interface with clients on schedule, meetings and issues

  • Train, mentor and develop staff

  • Maximize profit while minimizing risk

  • Assist in marketing and proposal preparation

  • Ensure that QA/QC procedures are being implemented and ensure the technical quality of documents

  • Anticipate potential schedule or priority delays and initiates plans for alternative actions

Minimum Requirements

BA/BS + 8 years of related experience

Preferred Qualifications

Familiar with Design Build type projects


?Familiar with NYSDOT, PANYNJ, TBTA, and other City Agencies

Understanding of Marketing in NY Environment
