Palace of Westminster, Southbank Place, Arctic Science centres, The Bank of England, BBC Broadcasting House, The Titanic building in Belfast and the St Pancras Chambers Hotel in London to name but a few.
About Our Team:
Our Oxford office is currently seeking a full-time Assistant Quantity Surveyor to work on a variety of projects in and around Oxfordshire and London from £1m to £50m+. These projects are in a range of sectors that include Higher Education, Schools, Residential, Infrastructure, Science and Healthcare.
Cost Planning: Area Schedules, Measurement of Quantities and entry onto Estimating software, Cost planning, Presenting Cost plan.
Tender Documentation: BQ/Pricing Schedule Measurement, Preliminaries/Appendices,
Tender Evaluation: Review and Analysis of Tenders, Tender Reports.
Value Engineering and Commercial Awareness.
Post Contract Cost Management: Preparation of Valuations, Final Accounts, Cost Reporting, Change Control.
Able to work under own initiative where appropriate, but also keen to work as part of a team and to be mentored and to develop and progress in their career development.
Effective verbal and written communication skills – Client facing.
Very good numeracy skills.
Knowledge of NEC3 and JCT suite of contracts.
Knowledge of NRM1 and NRM2.
Keenness to challenge, but in an engaging, not aggressive way.
An enthusiasm to go the extra mile, to provide great client service.
Articulate and able to interface directly and confidently with Client Leads and Design Team Principals. Achieves the highest standards of professional competence and to demonstrate this ability in all dealings with clients and professional contacts, reinforcing the profile of the company.
Champions a safe and secure working culture in accordance with SHE guidelines and procedures.
Working towards Professional Qualified – Quantity Surveying Degree
Working towards Chartered Status with the RICS, CIOB, RIBA, ICE or other equivalent institution
