Trace Systems is seeking an innovative and highly driven Systems Adminstrator to join our growing team in Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii. This role will be a part of a dynamic, multi-disciplined team, creating network infrastructure design and providing multi-enclave Coalition connectivity to our customer. The Systems Administrator will provide direct support to our customer's mission operations with a dynamic set of responsibilities designed to ensure satisfaction of approved customer requirements while creating a challenging role to drive professional growth.
Installs, modifies and maintains local area networks (LANs).
Responsible for troubleshooting and making necessary adjustments in network operating system, software and hardware.
Works with other staff to install, test, debug, modify and maintain distributed processing databases on the LAN.
Manages the functionality and efficiency of a group of computers running on one or more operating systems
Maintains the integrity and security of servers and systems
Sets up administrator and service accounts
Maintains system documentation
Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products
Interfaces with vendors to ensure appropriate resolution during outages or periods of reduced performance
Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery
Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources
May program in an administrative language
Develops and implements testing strategies and document results
Provides advice and training to end-users
Provides guidance and work leadership to less-experienced staff members, and may have supervisory responsibilities
May serve as a technical team or task leader
Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned
Participates in special projects and may lead aspects of these project
Patches and updates multiple client and server operating systems to Department of Defense guidelines
Troubleshoots and resolves issues with Microsoft Windows based servers and devices
Develops scripts and tools to automate and improve user support activities
Provides administration to Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) systems
Understanding of IAVAs and STIGs and applies updates to servers
Perform other duties as required
A minimum of ten (10) years of IT experience, including eight (8) years related to systems administration and analysis experience
Comprehensive knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in systems administration and support
Comprehensive knowledge of desktop operating systems and applications
May require professional certification in one or more specific technologies, depending on job assignment
Ability to support 24/7 operations
An active, in-scope US Government issued Secret clearance
Current DoD 8570 IAT-II certification (Security+ce, CCNA-Security, etc.)
Current computing environment certification: (Microsoft or vmWare)
Due to the nature of the work and contract requirements, US Citizenship is required
Microsoft Server and VMware Certifications
Support of Windows Server 2013/2016, Skype for Business, Transverse, mIRC, Sametime, Unite, Webex, Adobe Connect, Microsoft Exchange, Outlook, OWA, Sharepoint w/ ADFS, CAS, Web Portals, VOIP, Video Phones, VTC, Voice Bridge, Profile Redirection, Organizational Shares, Map Data, WSUS
Support of VMware Horizon View (VDI)
Support Secret REL, FVEY, or transport networks
Bachelor's degree in a related field (or the equivalent years of experience in lieu of a degree) AND a minimum of ten (10) years of IT experience including eight (8) years related to systems administration and analysis experience
