Cyber Systems Test Engineer

This Cyber Systems Test Engineer (CSTE) position supports Commander Operational Test and Evaluation Force (COMOPTEVFOR) in the planning and execution of Cyber Survivability Testing. CSTE responsibilities include development of cyber operational tests by following the COMOPTEVFOR Cyber Survivability Test Planning process, Test and Evaluation Master Plan (TEMP) inputs, and cybersecurity test plans for the system under test (SUT). This includes review of the system of system (SOS) network architectures and identification of the SUT’s critical cybersecurity capabilities and vulnerabilities. Additionally, the CSTE will support coordination of SUT cybersecurity test assets, conduct pre-test site surveys, support SUT cybersecurity test execution and support post-test cybersecurity data analysis and evaluation. The CSTE will lead the SUT test team through the COMOPTEVFOR cyber survivability checkpoint process for test plan development. CSTEs must also be familiar with the COMOPTEVFOR integrated evaluation framework (IEF) to support the integration of cyber survivability into SUT teat team IEF product development. CONUS travel may be required. The position will be located at COMOPTEVFOR Norfolk, VA.

This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer/Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering (technical), or Aeronautical Engineering with 5 years of relevant experience. The selected candidate must have a DoDD 8570 IAM/IAT II certification and have a minimum of 2 years of DoD cybersecurity experience and a minimum 2 years of experience in one of the following: network engineering, programming (C/C++, python, Bash, etc.), systems test engineering, penetration testing. The candidate must be proficient with the use of the Microsoft Office family of software including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
