AECOM is seeking a Project Controls Engineer, this position will have overall responsibility for the design and coordination of technical issues among various disciplines on transportation projects involving highways, bridges and transit/rail structures and facilities.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Review and analyze Contractor’s Critical Path Method (CPM) Progress Schedules on various transportation construction contracts.
Provide recommendations to construction staff on the avoidance, minimization and mitigation of construction phase delays
Review and analysis of Contractor’s requests for contract Time Extensions
Assist in the defense of contract time-related disputes and/or claims; including but not limited to dispute/claim analysis, defects and damage calculations, delay, disruption and acceleration impact analysis, and litigation support
Conduct periodic construction project site visits to monitor project progress and assure progress schedule integrity, and participate in regular progress schedule meetings with construction team
Provide construction management, scheduling and project set up services for all projects on enterprise P6 system.
Develop or review Suggested Preliminary Construction Schedules during the final design stage based on the available plans, specifications and estimate provided by the project designer
Conduct constructability reviews of the plans and specifications
Candidates shall be proficient with the Primavera P6 software applications
Knowledge: Construction Scheduling
Technical Skills: Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, P6
1+ years construction inspection experience related to heavy highway and bridge construction projects for a State, Federal, or local municipality
Experience cost loading and reviewing cost loaded construction schedules
Experience using P6 in enterprise environment – setting, trouble shooting up P6 software
Experience with time impact analysis and various delay analysis methods
Certified by the Project Management Institute (PMI) certified as a Scheduling Professional (PMI-SP), or have AACE International certification as a Planning & Scheduling Professional (PSP),
Demonstrate progressively responsible experience in the review and analysis of Contractor’s CPM schedule submissions utilizing Primavera P6 for transportation projects
Excellent Verbal and Written Communication
Experience with Oracle Primavera Unifier a plus
Experience with Oracle Primavera Business Intelligence a plus
Experience with Design-Build procured highway and bridge construction projects a plus
Training experience – P6 and Unifier
