Job Summary

We are seeking creative, highly talented Project Managers and Senior Project Managers to join our practice and grow our Government, Transportation, Justice, Education, Commercial and Corporate markets. Our Project Managers work directly with the client and stakeholders to ensure project and program objectives are met. The successful candidate will demonstrate an affinity for maintaining and delivering high quality projects on time and within budgets while establishing and maintaining excellent client relations. The successful candidates will meet the majority of the following core competencies/expectations in accordance with AECOM processes and procedure:

  1. Project/Practice Management

  2. Creates and executes project work plans, project executions plans, risk mitigation plans, etc.

  3. Identifies staffing needs and assigns individual responsibilities

  4. Manages the day-to-day operational aspects of a project, including the budget, base scope and additional services

  5. Reviews deliverables prepared by the team

  6. Prepares for internal monthly project reviews and quality assurance procedures

  7. Assumes responsibility (in partnership with the Market Leader and Project Approver) for financial, technical and design excellence, overall quality and client satisfaction

  8. Ensures project documents, including legal documents, contracts, and task orders are reviewed, approved, signed and filed per the AECOM project management framework

  9. Project Accounting

  10. Updates the project EAC monthly and monitors WIP, AR, SCM, DLM, EBITA, GM, NSR.

  11. Tracks and reports hours and expenses

  12. Manages project budget and expenses

  13. Determines appropriate revenue/margin recognitions, ensures timely and accurate invoicing, monitors project receivables, and is responsible for collection of AR

  14. Analyzes projects profitability, revenue, margin, bill rates and utilization

  15. Communications

  16. Facilities team and client meetings

  17. Effectively communicates relevant project information to the client, team, and internal leadership

  18. Delivers engaging, informative, and well organized presentations

  19. Resolves and/or escalates issues in a timely fashion

  20. Teamwork

  21. Consistently acknowledges, appreciates, and motivates both individual staff and project team

  22. Effectively utilizes each team member to his/her fullest potential

  23. Keeps track of lessons learned and shares those lessons with team members

  24. Technical Understanding

  25. Possesses general understanding in the areas relevant for the projects managed

  28. Manages day-to-day client interaction and expectations

  38. Identifies business development and additional service opportunities for all disciplines as they relate to a specific project, program or client

  39. Engages is proposal efforts, working as the internal or external capture manager, including completing project scoping and pricing

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Architecture or Engineering or other related field

  • Demonstrated and extensive experience as a Project Manager within any of the following markets: Federal Government, Transportation or State & Local Government, Justice, Education, Corporate or Commercial,

  • Licensed architect, professional engineer or Interior Designer or equivalent

  • Ability to travel between New York City, New Jersey and Boston if needed
