Associate Engineering Technician

KBR is seeking to hire a Engineering Technician to support our team in Huntsville, AL. This candidate will support the Close Combat Weapons System (CCWS) Project Office, by providing maintenance and repair on TOW Weapon Systems and Bradley Fighting Vehicle Sub-systems. Job duties are as followed:

  • Under direct supervision, works to perform defined tasks according to procedures and established practices.
  • Inspects, tests, and adjusts components to specific tolerances.
  • Determines shortcomings and malfunctions in electrical, mechanical, optical, and electromechanical assemblies, sub-assemblies, and modules and circuit elements with common and special system specific test equipment.
  • Repairs unserviceable items by aligning, adjusting, removing/replacing defective components and parts, and removing/replacing defective modules and assemblies.
  • Determines serviceability and disposition of defective assemblies, sub-assemblies, and parts.
  • Performs maintenance adjustments and repairs on job related tools and equipment.
  • Refurbishes system components by sanding, masking, and painting exterior and interior surfaces in accordance with established standards.
  • Prepares maintenance forms and reports.
  • Conducts detailed experimental testing to collect system data or assists in research work for system design.
  • Some heavy lifting is required.

  • The skills required for this job are typically acquired through 1+ year of experience.
