Space Life Science Training Program Staffer

KBR is seeking 2 Space Life Science Training Program (SLSTP) Staffers to oversee logistical efforts (on-site and off-site) for the 10-week summer session of the 2020 SLSTP program. Please note this is a temporary, Part-time 20 to 29 hour per week position from May 26, 2020 to August 16, 2020.

The incumbent shall:

  • Provide guidance to SLSTP interns on the participation in the SLSTP and encourage continuous involvement by all and be aware of problems as they arise.
  • Oversee the safety of SLSTP interns.
  • Coordinate and schedule meetings, events, presentations, and activities surrounding field trips and visits, including academic materials.
  • Prepare and revise SLSTP documentation as directed.
  • Perform daily driving tasks between the Ames Center and off-site destinations, including driving on weekend field trips in California.
  • Communicate routinely with SLSTP director, management, mentors, and students.

Required Education/Experience:

The incumbent is not required to have a Bachelors, but it is encouraged that they are enrolled in at least a bachelor’s program in sciences and/or engineering.

Required Skills/Training:

  • Demonstrated leadership abilities.
  • Skilled in word processing and spreadsheet programs.
  • Prior participation in the NASA SLSTP programs.
  • Valid driver's license from resident state required.
  • Must be able to operate both the vehicle’s main brake pedal and the emergency brake simultaneously in the event of an emergency.
  • Must be willing to travel and work weekends and evenings.
  • Requires residency with SLSTP interns during the summer session.
