We are actively seeking a talented Fire Protection Engineer II for immediate employment in our Norfolk, VA office.

The responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Performs specific and limited portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.

  • Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.

  • Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests.

  • Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered.

  • Identifies discrepancies in results.

  • Provides guidance to entry level engineers.

  • Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with moderate supervision.

Minimum Requirements

  • Ability to work with a senior FPE in the preparation of deliverables and products such as presentation materials, calculations, drawings, specifications, reports, and cost estimates related to life safety and fire protection systems for commercial, government, and institutional facilities

  • Ability to deliver complete, accurate, and coordinated project design assignments within time and budget parameters while satisfying client contractual obligations

  • Ability to perform field investigation for incorporation of existing conditions into project documents

Ability to identify risks and design safeguards that aid in preventing, controlling, and mitigating the effects of fires

Preferred Qualifications

Ability to propose approach to solve new problems encountered

Ability to identify discrepancies in results

Ability to provide guidance to entry level engineers
