Job Summary

We have an immediate opportunity for an Indirect Procurement Specialist in Chantilly, Virginia. The ideal candidate can perform strong research, analytical and problem-solving skills, including but not limited to quantitative (financial and non-financial) and qualitative analysis of internal and external data to support the development and execution of business improvement strategies.

The Indirect Procurement Specialist is responsible for fact-based research and in-depth quantitative and qualitative analysis to support the development and execution of new category, strategic sourcing, and supplier relationship management initiatives. Research would include gathering internal and external data and documentation; budget forecasts and operating plans; economic and market trends; and supplier performance. This position is responsible for analyzing data to identify trends, creating and interpreting fact-based reports, and supporting the Strategic Sourcing and Procurement teams in developing and executing strategies to achieve operational and financial excellence, mitigate risk, and improve supplier performance.

Gather and analyze quantitative and qualitative information from multiple internal and external sources to perform the following:

  • Provide analytical support for strategy documents, RFPs, and analysis of contract performance.

  • Support Category Sourcing Lead to scope and manage the delivery of analytical projects

  • Assist in the data and documentation collection required to aid Strategic Sourcing activities.

  • Create reports with both conceptual analysis and quantitative findings to recommend opportunities for enhanced value.

  • Generate reporting on supplier performance metrics and scorecards.

  • Actively participate in the development of long term strategic plans.

  • Provide as needed support in the execution of new projects, strategic sourcing activities, supplier evaluations, and performance reviews.

  • Ensure contract compliance by suppliers through the tracking of cost reduction/efficiency projects.

  • Research and assist in the resolution of issues relating to invoices, rebates, discounts, pricing, and other contractual issues.

  • Develop and implement models to quantify and report value realized through sourcing improvement initiatives.

  • May be required to perform other duties as assigned or as needed.

Minimum Requirements

  • Possess a Bachelor's in Business, Supply Chain, Management or in a technical discipline and experience in the field of Contracts and Procurement, equivalent to 3 or more years.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop recommendations that translate detailed information into succinct findings and action plans which are supported by in-depth insights including longer-term implications of alternatives

  • Conduct complex analysis and recommend strategies or policies to drive continuous improvement.

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word skills are highly desired with additional proficiencies in the use of other Microsoft Office tools including Project and Visio.

  • Experience in supporting supplier sourcing and RFP.
