Job Summary

AECOM is seeking an Operator IV in Saint Louis. Job responsibilities include:

Able to fill a lead role on any shift, which may include leading night or weekend shifts.

Must have expert knowledge of TMC procedures.In addition to responsibility for complex actions, they must be given responsibility for the TMC wide projects, which would be comparable to, or even slightly exceed, the projects referenced to in a standard.

The lead TMC Operator must apply precedents and must also know when it necessary to deviate from precedents.The lead operator must be able to make needed changed on a real time basis and continue to adapt and re-asses as conditions change.

Must have extensive dealings with organizations outside the TMC and coordinate the input from those organizations.

In the absence of the Operations Supervisor, perform the operations functions of a supervisor (including sick time, vacations/PTO) for the shift that they’re assigned to (AMs & PMs).

Ability to write and/or edit standard operating guidelines with guidance from the TMC supervisors.

Corrects employees and encourages adherence to procedures, investigate errors, provides findings and follows up with coaching of employees if counseling is not warranted.

  • Works under limited supervision performing complex technical work.

  • Duties may include technical responsibility for a major phase or component of a project.

  • Takes lead role in work-flow coordination

  • Monitoring the roadways, including detecting, confirming, updating, and responding to scheduled and unscheduled traffic events and congestion with ITS devices such as closed circuit TV, detectors, etc.

  • Act like an emergency dispatcher within a call center environment dispatching Road Rangers via a two-way radio system to assist motorists, respond to events and other activities that require timely and efficient responses.

  • Other duties assigned

Minimum Requirements

BA/BS + 10 YORE or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
