Job Summary

The Morrisville, NC AECOM office is seeking an experienced SOIL AND GROUNDWATER REMEDIATION DESIGN ENGINEER to assist with remediation projects throughout the US. Work will include pilot testing, remedial action reporting, design tasks such as drawing and specification generation, as well as data analysis. The engineer will be expected to work with a variety of senior and junior engineers and project managers, supporting our railroad, oil and gas clients, and industrial clients.

The Morrisville, NC office supports project teams throughout the US and is known to be one of our centers of engineering excellence for AECOM. Our teams work on complex remediation projects, pulling the right resources from across the company to support project needs.   • Performs specific and moderate portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.

  • Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.

  • Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests.

  • Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered using modifications of standard procedures or methods developed in previous assignements.

  • Identifies discrepancies in results.

  • Provides guidance to entry level engineers.

  • Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervision.

  • Independently performs all the tasks necessary to complete primary design

elements for engineering works.

  • Performance at this level requires developmental experience in a professional position.

Minimum Requirements

  • 4 years of experience with a similar remediation firm

  • BS in environmental, chemical, or civil engineering (MS preferred)

  • EIT required, working toward or having obtained a PE

  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time

  • Hazwoper 40-hour training

Preferred Qualifications

  • MS in environmental, chemical, or civil engineering
