Our Technical Information Group in Huntsville, AL is seeking a recent college graduate to work as a Technical Editor/Writer. This position is an excellent opportunity for someone to begin a career in the aerospace-defense engineering environment supporting state-of-the art technology through the development of hardware and software technical documentation for end-user Technical Manuals.
The individual will work with technical writers, logistic support personnel and system engineering organizations collecting and documenting system architecture, and developing applicable technical manuals in accordance with defined standards and contractual requirements. We are looking for someone who is a well-organized self-starter, is able to work in a team environment, has good communication and technical skills, and can professionally interact with other organizations.
Candidates must demonstrate an aptitude in developing technical documentation and technical writing. Candidates must have an understanding or be willing to learn hardware and software engineering principles as well as the ability to understand and interpret engineering documentation. Proficiency using Microsoft Office software products is required. Must be willing and able to travel occasionally for business
purposes. Must be able to obtain and maintain a US DoD Security
Experience developing and writing technical documentation is desired. Experience in military systems and/or technical manual standards are a plus. Working knowledge of ETMs, IETMs, S1000D, SGML and XML is preferred. Familiarity in use of modeling, animation and CAD tools such as Pro-Engineer, AutoCAD, Right Hemisphere and Solid Works is a plus. Strongly prefer local candidates. There is no relocation associated with this position.
BA/BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science or equivalent Engineering degree. All candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree and be within 18 months of graduation. The degree must be awarded by June 2020.
This position requires either a U.S. Person or a Non-U.S. Person who is eligible to obtain any required Export Authorization.
