Systems Design teams within the System Design & Performance Directorate is responsible for the overall technical integrity of the systems being developed, collaborating with Guidance Navigation Controls; Modeling, Simulation and Analysis; and Signal Processing. System Design & Performance is currently looking for entry level Systems Engineers to provide systems design support for programs in various stages of the product life cycle.

U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance as of day one of employment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Requirements development and maturation to include subsystem and component level.
  • System architecture development and refinement in order to satisfy the system performance and interface requirements.Performance of trade studies to identify the best solutions in developing the system, trading cost, schedule, and performance.
  • Establishment of verification and validation techniques for requirements at all levels of indenture for complex systems, to include application of simulation, testing, analysis, and demonstration.

Required Education and Skills:
  • Pursuing a Bachelor or Master of Science Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Math or Physics from an ABET accredited curriculum with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 is required
  • U.S Citizenship is required
  • Proven strong analytical skills and problem solving abilities
  • Basic Engineering skills and interest in how systems are developed and function
  • This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance. Except in rare circumstances, only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Note: This position can be a Salary Grade ST03, Salary Grade ST04 or Salary Grade ST05 based on the candidate's qualifications and standing as outlined below:

ST03 (Junior Technical Intern)- must have completed 60 hours of college
ST04 (Senior Technical Intern)- must have completed 90 hours of college.
ST05- (Post-Graduate Technical Intern)- must have an undergraduate degree, and currently seeking a graduate degree (In degree fields listed in Required Education)
