The in-country Localization Mechanical Engineering (ME) Lead will act as the primary point of contact for all technical needs in support of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) AN/TPY-2 program, including coordination with reach back support, interpretation, and redlining of technical documentation. The KSA AN/TPY-2 Program includes in-country fabrication of the Cooling Equipment Unit (CEU), managing the KSA supplier base to deliver qualified CEUs and spares in all aspects of the production build while leveraging domestic supplier Manufacturing Data Packages (MDPs) and build to print documentation. The Localization ME Lead is responsible for overseeing and providing guidance throughout the CEU production build, acceptance testing and integration with the AN/TPY-2 system. The Localization ME Lead will support special process qualifications, aid in training development and delivery, assist with process/procedure development activity, close supplier risk assessment gaps and facilitate in-country DD250 efforts utilizing KSA Radar 1 and 2 assets.
The Localization ME Lead will provide Subject Matter expertise to all KSA suppliers and work with the team to confirm compliance to all requirements. Additionally, the Localization ME lead will ensure all work executed in KSA is reported to the Program IPT Lead for inclusion in Radar Subsystem (RSS) level meetings. Some overtime may be required.
This position is located in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The deployment of this position is contingent on the award of the production contract.
Demonstrated leadership and communication skills to drive team performance
Knowledge in GDT and defense industry standard drawings and schematics
Knowledge in the field of liquid to air cooling systems including heat exchangers, pumps, temperature mixing valves, coolant instrumentation and material compatibility.
Knowledge in the utilization of common industry tooling and manufacturing equipment
General application of engineering concepts and principles.
Knowledge in production, fabrication, integration assembly, and manufacturing support experience with large complex assemblies.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds and work in an extreme desert heat environment.
CREO or Similar CAD Software experience
6+ yrs of Science or Engineering work related experience
Technical leadership experience
Active DoD Security Clearance
Demonstrated technical experience, within a factory or in the field during operation, maintenance and sustainment of general cooling equipment and/or the AN/TPY-2 Major End Items (MEIs)
Trained and experienced in the production, operation, sustainment and troubleshooting procedures of the AN/TPY-2 CEU or similar MEI.
Demonstrated experience as a technical point of contact with foreign end users.
Demonstrated experience across the hardware lifecycle (R&D, design, production, fielding, sustainment.)
Success in working directly with a USG or foreign country customer
Experience with technical refresh and obsolescence redesign considerations
Demonstrated technical experience with supporting the application of special processes such as CARC paint, metalized spray, welding, and other similar processes.
Cable, wiring and related troubleshooting experience
Experience with Department of Defense (DoD) Foreign Military Sales (FMS) programs as well as Direct Commercial Sales (DCS) programs
Results oriented, diligent and proactive in problem resolution; organized and self-directed
Capable of prioritizing requirements, tasks, and issues – leading to rapid and efficient program execution
Ability to synthesize and distill technical data and present material in a timely manner to leadership and team
Effective presence and influential leadership capability, with the ability to interact with senior levels of leadership effectively - including customer, Raytheon and suppliers
EV Level I certified
Proficient in Microsoft Project
Required Education (including Major):
B.S. Degree in Engineering, or relevant discipline (Math, Physics, etc.)
