Sr. Systems Engineer II/Network Data Management SME

Job Responsibilities:

  • Define network communications and designs in order to implement IP Plan solutions within existing network and for emerging capabilities
  • Manage the central database for the IP Plan for the program and supports management of the Network System Modification Request (SMR) database and makes recommendations for upgrade to the network
  • Provide problem resolution for all IP related issues to ensure availability of the network
  • Propose solutions to management to provide all data communications requirements are based upon future needs and current usage, configuring such solutions to optimize cost savings
  • Must have an understanding of network-oriented equipment and connectivity (e.g. firewalls, routers, switches, TCP/UDP protocols)

Technical Skill Required:
  • Must be proficient in Excel and/or other database applications to allow effective development and management of the C2BMC Network IP Plan and it's components
  • Experience in ClearQuest
  • Experience in automating database input and queries.

Experience Required:

Effective communicator with excellent writing and presentation skills using Microsoft PowerPoint and Visio drawing tools
Responsible to work independently / solo at times on large in the field projects, at other times will be in a collaborative team environment with other network engineers

Education Required:
  • Bachelor of Science in the Computer Science field (i.e. EE, CIS, CPE, MIS, IT), plus a minimum of 6 years related experience, or equivalent experience may also be considered in lieu of degree
  • Must possess a DoD 8570 certification at IAT Level II or higher (Security+, GSEC, SCNP, SSCP, CISSP, CISA, GSE, SCNA)
  • Candidate will be responsible to maintain DoD 8570 certification for the full contract period
  • Current DOD Secret Clearance

Travel is required between Huntsville and Colorado Springs to support meetings and work with distributed functional personnel. Travel may be necessary for operational sites as well.
