Job Summary

AECOM is hiring a Senior Submarine Industrial Subject Matter Expert V(SME V) to support NIWC NPES Submarine Modernization Program in Portsmouth, VA.

The successful candidates will possess extensive (20+ years) NAVAL shipboard industrial support experience

Minimum Requirements

Clearance/Education required:

  • The ability to obtain a US Government Secret clearance is required.

  • A bachelor’s degree and 20 years of job-related experience or equivalent is required.

Candidate must have extensive experience managing shipboard modernization events in the following areas:

  • Liaison with Submarine Modernization stakeholders, Government, and contractor, to identify potential issues.

  • Provide solutions to issues that occur during Submarine Modernization events

  • Review SHIPALTS, drawings, Liaison Action Requests (LARs) and Departure from Specifications (DFSs)

  • Possess a strong work control documentation background. WAFS / TAGOUTS knowledge

  • Provide updates to Submarine Modernization project schedules

  • Identify and track planned vs. actual progress

  • Identify problems or weak areas with the Alteration Installation Teams (AITs) supporting Submarine Modernizations

  • Conduct deckplate audits and surveillances and document findings as required

  • Identify and interpret SHIPALT drawing issues

  • Identify if the AIT deckplate work sequencing is being properly executed (i.e. right personnel working in the right areas)

  • Participate in Planning and Hotwash events to support MIWG and PEO-SUB Tech Insertion Program

  • Attend LMA meetings as directed by SIIMO Management

Preferred Qualifications

  • Active Secret government clearance.
