Job Summary

AECOM Colombia is actively seeking a highly talented Transportation Business Development Leader for immediate employment in our Bogota, Colombia office. The appropriately qualified applicant will demonstrate an established career in the transportation infrastructure sector and have a successful track record of business development, client service, and program management. The position will report to the Colombia Country Manager and will work in a matrix organization, with local transportation and operations staff, Latin America regional leadership, and global transportation business line executives to position AECOM for new work with major transit clients in Colombia market. The focus will be on expanding our overall transportation, ENV., PM/CM, B+P and others practice in the areas of planning, design, systems, and program and construction management services. Our Colombia Transportation practice is a multi-discipline practice focused on providing collaborative and holistic solutions to transportation and design.

Primary function to include but not limited to the following:

  • Work with the local and regional Transportation Business Line leadership team, Regional Executives (operations and business development), the Latin America Transportation Business Line Leader and other area Business Development Leads on development and execution of growth strategies

  • Formulate and execute business development and client capture strategies, including general marketing efforts and specific opportunity pursuits, complete with identification of required staff resources to win and effectively deliver projects

  • Lead and work with others on Client Account Management

  • Establish relationships with both external and internal clients and customers, including industry associations and other potential consultant team members

  • Identify upcoming transit pursuits in the Colombia market

  • Effectively respond to task order RFPs, deliver projects and broaden client relationships

  • Drive improved deliverable content and quality, innovative client solutions, and project insight through leveraging of gained transit experience

  • Position AECOM for pursuits that best fit our skill set and growth plans

  • Lead the proposal development process including team formulation, Statement of Qualifications, Technical Proposals and Presentations

  • Attend conferences to strengthen existing client relationships and establish new relationships; obtain an understanding of emerging technologies and market driers

  • Maintain a high local and regional profile


Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Planning, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related discipline

  • 12 years of related experience or demonstrated the equivalency of experience and/or education, including 4 years of leadership

  • Proven track record with large client account management, pursuit execution, and engineering/technical delivery

  • Experience in client pre-positioning activities, team (internal and external) and proposal development, and execution of selection interviews

  • Familiarity with local and federal funding and project development requirements

  • A team-oriented individual that can work with operations, project and marketing staff of all levels

  • Ability to collaborate across disciplines and business lines for integrated delivery and growth

  • Excellent interpersonal skills demonstrated team-building and internal/external networking skills

  • Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other relevant software programs

  • Experience in organizational development and leadership, program management, client service management, design, and/or business development activities for large-scale transit clients and/or projects

  • Bilingual Spanish/English- writing, reading and spoken to collaborate with colleagues across the organization and to defend bid/no bid process with North American Quality Assessment team.

  • License and/or registration of professional engineer or planner
