Job Summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a Serviceperson to join their team based in the town of Alice Springs.

Reporting to the Operations Lead - Maintenance you will perform the maintenance, repair and renovation work in residential properties. The Serviceperson also provides support to trades and other personnel, as well as undertaking duties and tasks as required.

Key Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the Serviceperson include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform a wide range of tasks to support the organization in its undertaking of the VESTA contract requirements which include but is not limited to reticulation repairs, re-grouting of tiles and fencing repairs

  • Support of trades and other personnel where required

  • Undertake regular inspections and tasks within the individual's skills, experience, qualifications and certifications

  • Undertake all work in safe and professional manner

  • Report any incidents to management as a priority

  • Use of computer systems to record and plan work tasks

  • Work as part of a team

  • Assist in other areas of facilities and maintenance area from time to time as required

  • Work to ensure that safety is an integral part of everyday activities

  • Other duties as directed by the VESTA management team

Minimum Requirements

Essential Requirements:

  • Current Drivers’ License

  • Ability to safely undertake a wide range of maintenance activities

  • Ability to understand written instructions and create basic written reports

  • Ability to work within a team environment

  • Ability to work professionally with minimal supervision

  • Good interpersonal skills with a customer service focus

  • Good communication skills – verbal and written

  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and successfully complete assigned tasks

  • Demonstrated ability to identify and analyse issues and develop solutions to problems

  • Australian Government NV1 Security Clearance or the ability to gain one

Preferred Qualifications


  • Training in appropriate safety procedures (i.e. Confined Space Entry, Working at Heights,

Electrical Safety, Personal Protective Equipment, Lockout/Tagout, Working in Trenches etc.)

  • Previous experience within carpentry, electrical or plumbing trades would be an advantage
