Our Civil Infrastructure team in Brisbane is expanding due to several project wins and are working across multiple projects and opportunities in SQ, NQ and supporting other offices throughout Australia and New Zealand.

We require an experienced and talented Civil Engineer as a Technical Director to provide additional capacity to deliver across existing key projects and major upcoming opportunities.

The Role

The successful candidate will have proven TMR experience, coupled with local government experience (or suitable interstate/overseas experience) in Senior Design Delivery, Design Manager or Project Manager roles leading multi-disciplinary teams in pursuit of, and in the delivery phase of design for major transport infrastructure projects.

You will coordinate and provide technical expertise for mid- large-size projects as well as lead technical client relationships and play a major role in selling. You will have the ability to lead, mentor and coach team members to grow technical expertise and technical business development work. As a senior member of the team you will provide specialised technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise.

  • Technical leadership and governance of multi-disciplinary teams in internal and client facing roles.

  • Design of highways and associated infrastructure to RPDM and/or Austroads standards.

  • High quality technical and non-technical report writing in plain English.

  • Commercial/contractual management of projects on behalf of the Consultant.

  • Design experience under 'design only' and 'design and construct' delivery models.

  • Experience in the preparation of TMR Transport Infrastructure Contracts, or similar infrastructure delivery contracts and specifications.

  • Experience in the delivery of Preliminary Evaluation and/or Business Case projects under TMR OnQ or PAF processes.

This role is suited to a highly motivated engineer who is looking for exposure to local and international mentors to help support and drive their career.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering;

  • CPEng (or equivalent, or be eligible through a mutual recognition or other pathway);

  • RPEQ
