AECOM is seeking a Construction Engineer to be based on a heavy civil project in Soda Springs, ID. This challenging position will provide an excellent growth opportunity while improving the infrastructure of the region.
Under general supervision, performs routine duties.
Displays knowledge and abilities to evaluate, select and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria to meet basic engineering and construction specifications.
Displays applications of sound professional judgment on details of work.
Independently performs walk-downs and inspections of installed commodities to assure conformance with specifications and design.
Performs quantity surveys for tracking and reporting.
Responsible for managing the construction engineering functions on a construction project to ensure adherence to all engineering construction plans and specifications.
Knowledge of standard engineering practices, techniques and procedures.
Communicate to team members, the Project Manager, wider organization and external parties.
Collaborates with others with the ability to make autonomous decisions guided by policies, procedures and business objectives.
Write and oversee the preparation of contract documents and technical reports.
Preparation of engineering design reports, construction plans, and contract documents / technical specifications.
Assists with the planning and coordination of sub-contractor activities within the area of responsibility.
Receives technical and operational direction from the assigned Superintendent or Project Manager.
Reviews manpower, material, equipment requirements with others as designated by supervising superintendent.
Responsible for continuously expanding and updating professional knowledge and honing training skills in order to enhance individual and team innovation and productivity.
Civil/Heavy Civil experience (earthwork).
Site supervision experience would be an advantage.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Windows Suite; Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
Experienced with industry standard computer software for the position (examples include software such as CADD, HCS, AutoCAD, Revit and AutoCAD).
Strong problem solving and decision-making abilities.
