Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Electrical Engineer for employment in the Minneapolis, MN office.

This position will support architectural teams across the US in the layout and design of electrical systems for a variety of building types: Hospitals, Data Centers, Commercial and Industrial facilities, Labs and Clean Rooms. Job Description:

  • Work with other a senior-level team members from across the central US region. Supervise and mentor junior-level engineers and designers.

  • Design low voltage and medium voltage electrical distribution systems and building services for commercial, institutional, municipal, industrial facilities.

  • Perform electrical system designs including switchgears, switchboards, motor control centers, variable frequency drives, generators, transformers, distribution panels, and other electrical distribution systems.

  • Perform design for lighting, fire alarm, telephone, security and grounding systems.

  • Prepare design drawings including single line diagrams, electrical plans, wiring schematics, schedules, etc.

  • Perform electrical system calculations using power analytical software packages (Ex. SKM, EDSA, and Easy Power).

  • Perform electrical system studies and calculations (load, harmonics, voltage drop, lighting, short circuit, coordination and arc flash).

  • Review and coordinate instrumentations, control system process P&IDs, mechanical and HVAC systems and design its related electrical systems.

  • Develop electrical equipment specifications.

  • Verify compliance with applicable codes and engineering standards / practices.

  • Coordinate with other in-house engineering disciplines as needed.

  • Perform construction administration services such as shop drawing and RFI review

  • Create estimates and proposals for projects.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and 4 years of experience as an Electrical Engineer.

  • Licensed Professional Engineer.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficient with AutoCAD and/or Revit

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point)

  • Experience managing a team of junior engineers and designers.
