AECOM is seeking a highly talented Project Manager to lead teams for our retail fuel projects across the United States. This person will provide technical and mentoring guidance for The Program and Construction Management Business Unit of AECOM. The Project Manager will be in a team setting taking each project from inception to design, construction, and handover. The Project Manager will be working for retail fuel related projects including ground up new construction. This includes site work, underground fuel tank installations, renovation, and rebranding. The position can be located in either our Richmond, Virginia or Charleston, South Carolina office. The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established civil engineering career in the industrial site development market.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to
Plans, schedules, conducts and coordinates detailed phases of projects
Regularly develops and evaluates project plans
Provides leadership, direction and technical guidance on projects
Assesses the feasibility and soundness of proposed project plans, drawings and specifications
Responsible for ensuring proper quality control procedures are implemented on all projects
Conducts peer reviews and assists in technical presentations as needed
Manages internal and external stakeholders
Reviews and approves vendor invoices
Assists in the procurement process
Budgets and schedules management for individual projects and a portfolio of projects
Strictly adheres to AECOM and client safety protocols
Travels to sites and meetings across the assigned territories
Manages general contractors and other sub-consultants
Provides weekly updates on project performance, budget, schedule, 2-week look ahead, etc.
Liaises with authorities and utility providers as needed to deliver projects as scheduled
Mentors junior staff
Manages one or more moderately complexe projects, involving a combination of the following:
Clients with a regional geographic footprint
Projects involving multiple services provided by regional IE offices
Other complexities, such as projects that involve litigation, environmental protection, due diligence, etc.
May manage all phases of projects (from beginning to close out)
Works independently for the most part, but receives basic instruction on specific assignments, objectives, complex features and possible solutions
Receives technical guidance on unusual or complex problems and supervisory approval on proposed plans for projects
Supervises (potentially) senior level engineers, project administration, project controls, scheduling, cost control, estimating and procurement representatives
Experience with retail fuel projects
PMP and/or CCM designation
