Senior Logistics Support Specialist

Role and Responsibilities

This position supports tasking for PMA-268 Logistics Support Analyses LEAD, NAVAIR Head Quarters in Patuxent River, MD.

  • The successful candidate will act as a Subject Matter Expert supporting the Logistics Product Database (LPD) Development team and their efforts for the MQ-25 STINGRAY.
  • The successful candidate will have experience in the development and maintenance of Logistics Management Information (LMI) in accordance with MIL-STD-1388-2B, GEIA-STD-0007 (preferred).
  • The successful candidate will have experience with developing, updating, manipulating and managing relational databases, including updating with change and full files.
  • The successful candidate will have experience utilizing EAGLE, POWERLOG, SLICWave or other GEIA tools.
  • The selected candidate will be able to mentor a team in interpreting, researching, and using engineering technical data for incorporation into the logistics product database. The candidate will be required to interface with representatives from multiple organizations, within and outside of the Program.
  • The selected candidate will ensure the LPD team completes database development and updates in accordance with PMA-268 Program schedules and contract requirements.


  • This position requires at least fifteen (15) years of logistics engineering management experience.
  • The successful candidate must exhibit strong LPD management skills. The incumbent will be required to perform training to team members and ensure they have the necessary tools to be effective team members.
  • The successful candidate must have a background in transferring engineering technical data products (drawings, FMECA, RCM, etc.) into a GEIA-0007 database and developing GEIA-0007 output reports.
  • The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate an understanding of managing the transfer of multiple GEIA-0007B and MIL-STD-1388 files and technical data packages from OEMs, other Navy activities and back.
  • The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate an understanding of GEIA-0007B database configuration management.
  • Travel is required. Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as dictated by aircraft availability is required.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • A bachelor's degree is desired, however an additional 4 years of experience working in Naval aviation field can be substituted.
  • Experience in at least one of the front-end logistics products, such as maintenance plans, sparing/ parts plans, support equipment requirements, training plans, or man-power plans is desired.
  • Capable of collecting, organizing, and preparing technical data/documents and reports for review.
  • The preferred candidate will have the ability to work with the following software programs: Adobe Pro, MS Office Suite SW: Word, Excel, Power Point, and MS Project.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Must be able to prepare draft analysis documents and other material for internal review by subject matter experts and final review by customer. Must be able to work independently, be team oriented, and possess strong customer facing skills. Must be flexible and have the ability to adapt to new information and programs. Ability to write in a clear and concise manner, possessing excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must have the ability to research, review, and understand technical information and be able to perform quality assurance (QA) of technical documentation.

Equipment and Machines: Ability to operate office equipment such as personal computer, printer, copy machine, telephone, fax machine and other equipment including desk supplies and other work related tools as required.

Attendance: Anticipated at Monday-Friday. Regular attendance of scheduled hours is critical. Punctuality and regular attendance are necessary to meet deadlines. Must exhibit flexibility of work hours to adjust to surge situations based on critical mission requirements. Periodically, maintenance demonstration events require surged work hours that occur based upon aircraft availability, including nights and weekends. Travel (including airline travel) is required, for PMA meetings. Must demonstrate professional behavior at all times when dealing with customers, management and co-workers. Must have clear, concise and accurate communications skills, both verbal and written. Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk to employees or others. Must maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a professional manner. Independent personal transportation to work site is required. Applicant will be working in both office and aircraft hangar settings.
