Sr. Business Development and Capture Manager

KBR is seeking a Business Development/Capture Manager for the Space and Mission Solutions Division. The Capture Manager will support the Business Development (BD) Team and will be responsible for supporting activities throughout the full lifecycle of BD. This includes identifying opportunities, maturing opportunities through the capture process, and helping support opportunities through the proposal process. The Capture Manager will report directly to the Vice President of Business Development for SMS.

Responsibilities include leading all capture management activities such as build out of capture plans, ensure plan completion, leads kick off meetings, responsible for team resources, ability to obtain buy in and approval from all decision makers and the overall gate and capture review process. The BD and capture manager will be responsible for all intelligence & analysis. Develop baseline and foundation for win strategy and technical approach. Leads efforts of building a winning team to tell the overall win story. Drive all capture and bd lifecycle opportunities. Develop plan for all marketing activities. Responsible for development of proposal package to tell a win story that directly relates to the needs, issues and challenges of the customer. Influence stakeholders and customers on win strategy.


  • Minimum 10 years’ experience with demonstrated success in business development and capture of contracts valued greater than $50M.
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • Demonstrated successes reflecting the ability to “grow the business”
  • Strong skill in business writing – both technical and non
  • Familiarity and experience managing and utilizing tools such as Salesforce.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with senior business and government leaders and to provide leadership within the workplace
  • Working knowledge and experience with space and engineering support acquisition organizations
  • Experience developing account plans and capture plans for new business opportunities.
  • Experience in the following discipline(s): Business development, capture management, program management, science and engineering programs, civil space programs, acquisition processes, opportunity identification and qualification.
  • Military, DoD, or civilian experience acquiring, fielding, or operating space, sensor, or ground support systems

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Currency in relevant professional organizations and societies (e.g., AIAA, MSBR, etc.)
  • Masters in related discipline or MBA
