Join SAIC’s Information Technology (IT) Support Services Team in the Network Operations and Security Center (NOSC) of the US Air Forces Central Command (USAFCENT) Communications Directorate (A6). This opportunity places you at the tip of the spear for Engineering, Operations and Maintenance, Cyber Security, and Defensive Cyber Operations supporting the warfighter in the Southwest Asia area.
USAFCENT is the air component of United States Central Command (USCENTCOM), a regional unified command. USAFCENT, in concert with its coalition, joint and interagency partners, delivers decisive air and space power on behalf of USCENTCOM for the security and stability of the Southwest Asia (SWA) region. The USAFCENT NOSC delivers cyberspace command and control (C2) superiority to the warfighter by engineering, implementing, securing, managing, operating and maintaining USAFCENT’s Non-Classified Internet Protocol Router Network (NIPRNet), Secret Internet Protocol Router (SIPRNet), USCENTCOM Partner Networks (CPN-X), and associated C2 networks, systems and services.
The USAFCENT NOSC executes the
full-spectrum of IT services management and operations for USAFCENT networks 24
hour-a-day, 7 day-a-week (24/7); and is tasked by USCENTCOM to provide
information assurance (IA) boundary intrusion detection and intrusion
prevention for USCENTCOM components. Comprised of NOSC operations, operations
support, cybersecurity, network engineering, and command support functions, the
USAFCENT NOSC plans, engineers, installs, integrates, operates and maintains,
protects and manages enterprise-wide network and systems architecture,
infrastructure and services; and provides enterprise-level oversight to its
subordinate and supported communications support activities.
Candidates will be working at
Shaw AFB, SC and/or Lackland AFB, TX. Frequent temporary duty (TDY) and/or
deployment travel to OCONUS locations in the USCENTCOM AOR is required to
support sustainment, site surveys, installations, upgrades, integration,
testing, troubleshooting and other mission-related requirements.
The candidate for this position
will participate in the
development of solutions to a variety of problems moderate in scope and
complexity and often refer to policies, procedures and practices for guidance.
Information Technology Project Management:
Oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management.
Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports.
Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives.
Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients.
Responsible for ensuring contract requirements and subcontractor responsibilities are being accomplished, including working on the definition and implementation of project planning techniques to provide visibility on the contract.
Responsibilities may include developing budgets and schedules to meet contractual/project requirements for an assigned portion of a program, participating in and establishing and defining program plan requirements, and monitoring and reporting performance against plans to ensure that contractual, cost and schedule objectives are met.
Specific duties for this position include, but are not limited to:
Develop detailed project plans identifying tasks, resources, milestone and other relevant details to each specific project.
Develop detailed project plans, lists of materials and schedules.
Coordinate each new project with the project leads to customize the project plan to meet specific manning, time, and budget resources.
Track project resources requests, Request for Quotes (RFQ), Request for Proposal (RFP), and Statements of Work (SOW).
Manage and assist with coordination of IT contracts with GSA and Local Contracting offices for the acquisition of materials, equipment and services.
Maintain a master copy of list of materials for equipment used for each project to preserve standardization of equipment and software across the enterprise.
Contractor shall maintain enterprise-level licensing inventory for initial project software, renewals, and upgrades.
Install, configure, administer, and maintain Microsoft Project Server and other web pages to provide access to project status and supporting data, information and documentation.
Coordinate web development, systems administrators for web/server support, as required.
Provide detailed professional reports and presentations to assist Government senior leaders with strategic planning and decision-making.
Capture project data and make it available via the web to all end users and local agencies.
Maintain a file plan and records to archive project-related data for future reference IAW Air Force and local directives.
Coordinate project tasks and support activities (e.g., personnel deployments, and project material/equipment acquisition, staging, shipping and preparation) with internal and external agencies.
Train NOSC personnel on the implementation and use of Microsoft Project and other project management/planning tools.
Track and provide metrics on the effectiveness of the project plans, resources utilized and project execution; and provide recommendations for improvements.
Manage/coordinate the acquisition of required project resources (documentation, licensing, hardware, software, and other materials). Task involves compiling resource requirements from project engineers and assisting with converting those requirements into a purchase order requirements package.
Bachelors and three (3) years or more of related experience; Masters and one year of related experience. In lieu of a degree, four (4) years of additional experience is required.
ITIL 4 Foundation certification or any ITIL v3 Intermediate certification. Any equivalent IAT-II certification, if not the certification listed above.
