Description JOB DESCRIPTION: Responsibilities may include designing and developing plans, processes, procedures, functional and data requirements analysis, system analysis, documentation preparation for complex systems and operational support of these systems. Areas of specialization include emerging launch system technologies related to: guidance and navigation systems, control systems, communications systems, digital communication protocol, electrical power distribution, control and transmission devices, signal processing, instrumentation, electromagnetic compatibility and interference, electrical interfaces, avionics electronics, rocket and spacecraft structures, and electrical ground support equipment. Engineering disciplines that may map into this Standardized Labor Classification include mechanical, electrical, aerospace, propulsion, industrial, chemical, materials, computer, telecommunications, communications, environmental, structures, thermal, safety, reliability, software, systems and quality.
Individual must possess working knowledge of space launch systems and processes. Individuals in this role must be able to effectively communicate and interface with external federal organizations, emerging technology companies, and the commercial launch industry.
Could perform Systems Engineering activities related to Information Technology or Engineering including: concept of operations formulation, requirements definition, analysis and engineering, system architecting, system analysis and design, interface and data architectures, validation and verification, systems integration, system & op. performance analysis, Lifecycle cost analysis & estimation, decision analysis and physical configuration analysis (PCA) . Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software or engineering specifications. Provides specific, detailed information for selection, implementation techniques, and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements. From an information technology perspective, may be concerned with floor layout, power & cooling, data storage, infrastructure management, backup, monitoring, operating systems, directory services, identity management, access management, and automation.
Qualifications REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors degree in a STEM area and five (5) years or more experience with one (1) year experience in the National Space Security Launch area; Masters and three (3) years or more experience with one (1) year experience in the National Space Security Launch area.
DESIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors degree in a STEM area and eight (8) years or more experience with two (2) years experience in the National Space Security Launch area; Masters and three (3) years or more experience with two (2) years experience in the National Space Security Launch area.
