Description


JOB DESCRIPTION: Will provide information technology support including configuration, deployment, operation, maintenance, install software and patches, and user support for various networks and servers for the Surf Eagle architecture.  Coordinate with the Information System Security Officers (ISSO’s), Information System Security Engineers (ISSE’s), and Information System Security Managers (ISSM’s) to identify and apply the necessary Information Assurance Vulnerability Alerts (IAVA’s), Security Implementation Guides (STIG’s) and other cyber security requirements to the Surf Eagle architectures.  Perform routine checks to confirm operational status and make appropriate adjustments.  Make routine reports to senior level managers. 

 

Provide oversight of two junior systems administrators in the performance of Tier 2 support for workstations resolving trouble tickets as well as network and server issues, performing data file maintenance, and system backup and recovery.

 

Provide Tier 2 database administration support for government relational databases (currently PostgreSQL on Linux).  Perform routine system checks and report anomalies to senior level managers as required.  Configure, deploy, operate, maintain, and support the production, dissemination, and development databases deployed within the Surf Eagle architecture.  Perform data modeling (logical and physical).  Translate physical relational databases and eXtensible Markup Language (XML) schemas using XML style sheets.  Install software and patches, resolve database user trouble tickets.  Coordinate with the Information System Security Officers (ISSO’s), Information System Security Engineers (ISSE’s), and Information System Security Managers (ISSM’s) to identify and apply the necessary Information Assurance Vulnerability Alerts (IAVA’s), Security Implementation Guides (STIG’s) and other cyber security requirements to the Surf Eagle architectures.  Make weekly reports on assigned tasks.

Qualifications

TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: TS/SCI Clearance (JPAS preferred). High School Diploma or GED; BS Computer Science preferred.  3 years of working experience in Unix based Operating System, such as RedHat Linux (Server Level), and knowledge of Virtualization Architecture, such as VMWare ESXi.  1 year of working experience in Web Server applications, such as Apache and JBoss.  1 Year of working experience, plus formal training in Postgres Database
