SAIC is seeking candidates as the Crime Scene Investigator Trainer/Mentor for our AFRICAP program in Tanzania. The duties and responsibilities include but re not limited to the following:
Train and advise TAWA officials and technicians on the fundamentals of evidence management and triage; latent fingerprint development; explosive composition chemical analytic techniques; crime scene investigative/processing techniques; basic laboratory equipment monitoring, calibration and maintenance; as well as, other forensic disciplinary techniques such as ballistic analysis all in support of terrorist criminal investigations.
Facilitate supplemental in-country training and mentoring with participation in other international or regional forensic training events to reinforce international forensics best practices.
Assist and mentor TAWA officials in establishing the foundation for expanding the forensic science capacity application to other criminal investigative activities.
Advise, train and mentor TAWA officials on the completion and processing of Reports and preparation for testimony in judicial hearings and trials.
Train, advise,mentor, and assist officials in developing, implementing and determining effectiveness of forensic Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). These SOPs will be in line with best practices and meet the legal requirements of Tanzanian rules of evidence and their legal system.
THIS POSITION IS CONTINGENT UPON GOVERNMENT AWARD
BS degree in at least one (1) of the forensic sciences.
Minimum of 10 years of forensic laboratory experience.
Minimum of 5 years of international experience.
Demonstrated continued education through publications, presentations, coursework, internships or certificates.
Ability to work in austere environments under challenging conditions.
Demonstrated prior professional experience requiring briefing both internal and external customers.
Demonstrated prior professional experience with the U.S. Department of State, U.S. Department of Defense, or other Government contracting agencies.
