The Defense Systems Group (DSG) of SAIC is seeking a Personnel Security Specialist to support the Marine Corps Information Portfolio with our customer at Ft. Meade in Maryland.


Job Description:

The Personnel Security Specialist will support the management and oversight of a comprehensive Special Compartmented Information (SCI) program.  Additionally the successful candidate will manage/maintain security files and forms including, but not limited to, foreign national association reports, unofficial travel requests, investigation packages, and security accreditation.  The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites software: Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.


Additional responsibilities may include:


  • Exhibiting knowledge of all security oversight publications, instructions, and guides
  • Possessing practical knowledge and experience with the Joint Personnel Adjudication System (JPAS) and Scattered-Castles
  • Working at an expert level of knowledge of all security oversight publications, instructions, and guides. 
  • Developing draft security policies and contributes to the implementation of security policies
  • Possessing the ability to work with senior military and civilian leaders and participates at community of interest forums
  • Making and implementing recommendations to ensure security compliance with policy and security guidance documents





  • Minimum ten (10) years of experience performing Personnel Security functions working in a Special Security Office, as a national security adjudicator, as a background investigator, or security manager with a High School Diploma; six (6) years of experience with a Bachelor’s Degree; or a Master’s Degree and four (4) years of experience.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Excellent communications skills.
  • Candidate possesses Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) or equivalent. (Or must be willing to obtain within 6 months of employment)
  • Prefer candidate possesses Security Program Integration Professional Certification (SPIPC).
