JOB DESCRIPTION: A challenging instructor position that equips military students with the knowledge and skills to perform operations, system configuration, system administration, network monitoring, troubleshooting, fault isolation, and restoration of Navy communication system Consolidated Afloat Networks and Enterprise Services (CANES). Develops, directs, plans and evaluates training programs or activities to meet external customer or internal employee learning objectives. Responsible for preparing training materials and lab equipment for course delivery. This includes setting up and instructing both classroom and practical hands-on portions of the course. Prepares and executes instruction of courses using standardized Navy training practices and procedures. Collaborates with customer or internal functional organization to develop, enhance, and/or evaluate new or existing learning objectives and course content. Monitors and evaluates training programs, assesses results, and implements enhancements as needed. Works under general direction on routine work. May receive detailed instructions on new projects or assignments. Follows established procedures. Work is reviewed for soundness of judgment, overall adequacy and accuracy.
BS degree and 6 years of experience or 4 additional years in lieu of degree.
Formal military training and experience on one or more of the following:
ADNS family of systems, especially ADNS K(V)2, including LQoSMAN
Instructor qualifications and experience:
Formal instructor training, such as the Navy’s Basic Instructor Training (either NEC 805A or 9502) or a current industry standard trainer certification, such as Microsoft Certified Trainer (MCT) or CompTIA Certified Technical Trainer (CTT+).
Three (3) years instructor experience
Master Training Specialist (MTS) qualification is preferred.
