Oracle (APEX) Developer - Military veterans preferred

SAIC is seeking a qualified, technically oriented, candidate responsible for the ongoing support of an Oracle Express (APEX) application environment. This role will require an individual, at the direction of a program/project manager, to support the full lifecycle development of custom Oracle Applications, primarily using the Oracle APEX toolset.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Perform requirements analysis, development, design, test, and deployment of custom Oracle applications
  • Design and maintain custom Oracle applications using Oracle Apex
  • Develop scripts in SQL, PLSQL for data conversion, data migration
  • Develop deployment plans
  • Maintain documentation on all work products
  • Document supporting policies, processes and procedures within your areas of responsibilities
  • Maintain assigned systems in accordance with DISA STIGs, NIST standards, and agency requirements
  • Effective creation of dynamic reports within the Oracle APEX environment, using APEX reporting tools, BI Publisher or Oracle Reports
  • Adherence to policies, processes and procedures within your areas of responsibility


  • At least 5 years’ experience as a developer with Oracle development tools
  • At least 5 years’ experience with Oracle databases
  • Experience programming in both Windows and Unix environments
  • Experience with Oracle Database version 11 and above
  • Experience with Oracle APEX 5.1 or higher
  • Experience with Oracle BI Publisher 12 or higher
  • In-depth knowledge of Oracle database objects – tables, indexes, directories, sequences, triggers, packages, etc.
  • Experience with storage, retrieval, and manipulation of unstructured data (BLOBs, CLOBs, JSON, XMLType) in an Oracle environment
  • Familiarity with Oracle Integrated Development Environments such as Quest Toad and Oracle SQL Developer
  • Familiarity with scripting in Windows PowerShell, Unix shells
  • Must be able to write and maintain documentation on work products
  • Practical, hands-on experience and demonstrable technical competence with development and operational tools
  • Experience with web development using HTML5, Style Sheet, CAML, XML, XSLT, or JavaScript.
  • Applicants for this position will require security processing from DOJ/Criminal Division, including background and credit screening. Employment and placement is contingent upon receiving this clearance
  • Ability to work independently and with teams

  • Experience with Oracle Forms & Reports
  • Experience with Java
  • At least 5 years’ experience with Oracle databases
  • Manage Daily DBA Operations for Oracle version 11
  • Apply Bug fixes, Security fixes, or Patch Set Updates for Oracle Databases, Oracle Fusion Middleware, and Oracle Linux

  • Understanding of alternate access mapping, DNS entries, Kerberos configuration and various forms of authentication
