Description

SAIC has a new opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team supporting an Intelligence Community customer at the NRO. Qualified candidates must have a current TS/SCI level clearance with Polygraph.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:  Provide Mechanical Engineering SETA support to assist an Intelligence Community (IC) customer by providing technical expertise, continuity of effort, and value added judgement to advise on a full spectrum of engineering activities.

  
Key duties/responsibilities as part of a world-class Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) team include, but are not limited to: 

 

  • Provide assessments and analyses of the accuracy and adequacy of mechanical structural and thermal designs of satellite components and subsystems
  • Develop static and dynamic design and analysis of mechanical systems, equipment and packages
  • Author and assist in flow down of requirements and evaluate verification methodologies
  • Evaluate assembly, integration and test (AI&T) plans and Interface Control Documents (ICDs)
  • Review test plans/procedures and test results and test reports for completeness and accuracy, including compliance to approved plans, and provide feedback to the customer.
  • Conduct modeling and simulation as needed 
  • Collaborate with Government points of contact, SETA team members, development contractors, and customer forums
  • Attend Integrated Product Team (IPT) meetings as required
  • Attend contractor and subcontractor boards (Failure review, PM&P, configuration, risk management, etc) and provide feedback to the customer.
  • Support the customer in the oversight of subsystem hardware development, integration, and test activities at the subcontractor and associated vendor facilities.
  • Proactively identify and assess emerging technical and programmatic risks at the system/subsystem level and tsom hen work with the Prime/Subcontractor to develop and evaluate mitigation approaches.
  • Develop productive relationships with Prime/Subcontractor counterparts, functional counterparts, and other subject matter experts.


Qualifications

TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors and 0 years related experience.

Bachelor's Degree in technical discipline, Mechanical Engineering preferred

·  Relevant experience in a System Program Office (SPO);

·  Experience with technical specification review

·  Excellent oral and written communication skills 

·  Security Clearance - Candidates must possess a TS/SCI security clearance with active Polygraph.
