Provide expert experience to senior Command officials on matters relating to unmanned aircraft system (UAS) flight clearance (FC) efforts.
Assisting in the
airworthiness and safety of flight assessments as related to the development of
Interim Flight Clearance
s (IFC) and Permanent Flight Clearance s
Coordinate with NAVAIR program offices – such as CNAF, TYCOMs, Test Squadrons, HQMC, MCWL, NRL, ONR, and OEMs, to establish airworthiness strategies providing engineering reports, other technical information, and meeting reports.
Represent NAVAIR as a UAS airworthiness expert at airworthiness meetings, reviews, and conferences.
Provide inputs on airworthiness policy and actions as draft documents for policies and records.
Liaison with PEO/PMA personnel, as well as joint service and FMS/NATO partners.
Master’s degree and twelve (12) years DoD airworthiness experience in unmanned aircraft systems.
Fifteen (15) years DoD airworthiness experience may be accepted in lieu of a Master’s degree.
Ability to communicate effectively with executive level personnel throughout DOD airworthiness and NATO Partners.
Ability to develop and follow implementation plans for configuration management of technical data.
Ability to demonstrate expertise in decision-making with self-starter qualities while performing in a team environment.
Be proficient in the use of Microsoft (MS) products and possess a strong computer-use background to include editorial software running on local, networked, or web-based platforms, and websites.
Possess the ability to communicate well, both orally and in writing.
