SAIC is looking for a Strategic Planner to support the Mission Support Services (AJV-S) organization in the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) Air Traffic Organization (ATO). Primary tasking will be assisting the customer with the development of the Future Flow Management strategy.

This individual must be able to work with limited supervision as part of the AJV-S team. Their core responsibility is to analyze, and report on data collected while providing advisory and analytical support for development of strategies, planning and implementation activities associated with the execution of fundamental changes in how the ATO conducts business. Particular focus will be on building, maintaining, and analyzing schedules and budgets as well as support on planning, developing and implementing strategic plans and schedules; communication planning; develop, coordinate and obtain senior level management input and approval for planning agendas, logistics and communication of planning session; capturing and managing action item status. This activity may include generating program/project status, cost and schedule indicators, project schedule trends, critical path analysis, and schedule optimizations. The individual should have the ability to provide advisory and analytical support for ATO-wide communication/outreach strategies for multiple initiatives/programs while identifying potential project trends and risks to management.

Some job specific responsibilities include:
  • Manage and lead meetings and discussions by preparing agendas, meeting logistics, compiling minutes, and tracking actions.
  • Manage the schedule using MS Project and make updates to the project plan as needed.
  • Work with stakeholders and other contract support to identify WBS task outcomes and manage project definitions and scope.
  • Review products and provide comments and feedback.
  • Create tools and products to manage project complexity.
  • Manage shared FFM KSN workspace.

Must be proficient with Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Project, Power Point, and Word. Exceptional oral and written communication skills are essential.


  • Bachelors Degree and 6 years or more of related experience; Masters Degree and 3 years or more of related experience; PhD and 0 years of related experience
  • Must be able to perform assigned tasking and complete customer deliverables with minimal supervision.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with colleagues with varying levels of technical expertise.
  • Must have experience using Microsoft Office tool suite and specific MS Project experience (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Visio) tools.
  • Must be a US citizen and able to pass a background investigation for a position of Public Trust.

Desired Qualifications

  • FAA experience highly desired
