SAIC is looking for a Satellite Systems Test Engineer to support a dynamic program in Chantilly, VA. This position requires an active Top Secret/SCI with Poly.



  •  Establish and/or lead test working groups to develop test planning documentation required for each test owned by the customer organization
  • Acts as, or assign, test conductor for each test owned by the customer organization

  • Review and provide inputs to tests owned by other organizations

  • Support or coordinate customer organization participation in test events led by other organizations

  • Draft and/or review Detailed Test Plans (DTPs) and associated Checklists; ensure compliance with government standards and plans (such as the NRO Test and Transition Plan [NSTTP])

  • Coordinate test planning documents with government and contractor teams, as appropriate

  • Develop and review Requests For Change (RFCs) impacting program testing and associated documentation

  • Identify and request required test environments to support each test, working with the test environment owners

  • Recommend roles and responsibilities for government and contractor teams executing the tests

  • Draft Test Readiness Review (TRR) criteria (as recommended by the NSTTP), coordinate TRR dry runs, and lead TRR execution

  • Manage Action Item and Issue list for each test as part of Test Working Group

  • Develop and maintain test task list or schedule with milestones and giver-receiver tasks

  • Review and manage comments to test plans & procedures written by test participants

  • Monitor test execution, document completed objectives, and report status to senior Government leadership

  • Track Discrepancy Report (DR) work-offs to close liens against the test objectives

  • Identify evidence required for closure of allocated system-level requirements

  • Establish and lead the Test Review Board in support of closure of system-level requirements

  • Work with SED to establish test dates for future customer organization test campaigns
















TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors and fourteen (14) years or more experience; Masters and twelve (12) years or more experience; PhD or JD and nine (9) years or more experience


  • BS or MS in math, science, or engineering field

  • Minimum of 5 years experience leading similar test campaigns for Customer GEOINT systems

  • Minimum of 5 years experience with Customer GEOINT systems

  • Familiarity with Customer Organization command media associated with system/enterprise test and integration

  • Familiarity with Customer Organization Command & Control (C2) systems and ground sites

  • Demonstrated excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills

  • Must be self-starter, requiring little to no government direction

  • Current SCI clearance with CI poly

  • Available immediately

Desired Qualifications

  • CSEP/ESEP certification

  • MS in math science, or engineering field

  • 10 years experience leading similar system test campaigns for Customer Organization EO systems

  • Familiarity with Customer EO vehicle operations
