SAIC has an opportunity for a Business Analyst (BAn) collaborating with a team of fellow analysts, business architects (BAr), and federal business relationship managers (BRM) who are responsible for the development and implementation of best practices and disciplines associated with value driven design.  The BAn will function as a subject matter expert working within a team environment, demonstrating the ability to identify and work with business stakeholders at every level, reaching out and establishing working relationships, and coordinating efforts to successfully elicit business requirements.  The BAn will provide subject matter expertise in discerning and utilizing the right mix of visual and textual materials, facilitating the efficient gathering of business needs and actionable requirements from stakeholders.  They will partner with their BRM and BAn counterparts to engage in large complex initiatives to ensure that all aspects of business strategy are addressed to assess the value of proposed business changes.  The documented analysis outputs are foundational to projects, architectural evaluations, and value stream optimization that must be communicated effectively to executive leadership and other technical professionals in order to recommend optimal solutions to business and technical challenges.



  • Provide day to day subject matter expertise and planning of work activities as assigned

  • Demonstrate critical thinking and thought leadership to team members and individuals around the organization

  • Identify appropriate techniques for gathering business needs from stakeholders

  • Identify and document the business processes using modeling standards like BPMN

  • Identify and recommend potential process improvements

  • Identify which processes are supported by an application, what data supports a process, and what technology infrastructure is in place to support a process (application rationalization)

  • Perform extensive documentation analysis to identify impact based on change requests



  • Bachelor's Degree (4 years’ experience in lieu of degree) with six (6) or more years of experience in Business Analysis
  • 3 - 5 years’ experience working within analysis teams

  • Strong oral and written skills in communicating, presentating, and facilitating, with responsibilities for updating client and SAIC contract leadership

  • Working experience with Visio and documenting business processes

  • Demonstrate a working understanding of modeling and analysis tools

  • Modeling processes using various notation (Unified Modeling Language, Business Process Modeling Notation, Workflows, Swim lanes, etc)

  • Facilitating organizational change management strategies/plans, approaches and tactics with different business areas

  • Ability to pass a government NACI background investigation



Desired Qualifications



  • Government consulting experience
  • Formal business analysis expertise or certification (IIBA-International Institute of Business Analysis)

  • Experience working within Agile teams
