Strategic planning business analysis is the process in which the organizational leaders determine their vision for the future as well as identify their goals and objectives for the organization. This roll will be the support of NASA’s JSC Safety and Mission Assurance (SMA) organization to assist and facilitate in the process of documenting their strategic plans and assist the organization with establishing a direction for their organization. We assist our SMA customer in coordinating efforts to discuss, plan and implement the organization’s strategic plans and support them in maintaining the continuous process of strategic planning.
Provides expertise on continuous process improvement strategies, organizational redesign, change management projects, and performance measures for basic business process engagements. Defines and develops business processes, policies, roles and responsibilities, and performance metrics; Conducts analysis of business processes: current state analysis, gap analysis, benchmarking, best practices identification, organizational assessment, and other related tasks. Plans and implements process improvements, including: future state design, change management, and transition planning. Interfaces with all areas of project including customer, computer services, and client services. Client is NASA Johnson Space Center. Provides oversight for the development and maintenance of quality programs, systems, processes and procedures that ensure compliance with policies and that the performance and quality of services conform to established standards and agency guidelines. Works directly with operating entities to provide process analyses oversight on a continuing basis to enforce requirements and meet guidelines. May coordinate with business and technology teams, ascertaining system requirements, such as program functions, output requirements, input data acquisition, and system techniques and controls. May deliver presentations and training courses including measurement, analysis, improvement, and control. Frequent use and application of technical standards, principles, theories, concepts and techniques. Receives assignments in the form of objectives and establishes goals to meet outlined objectives. Work is reviewed by supervisor/lead to measure meeting objectives. Assist in building guidelines, procedures and policies. PROBLEM COMPLEXITY: Provides solutions to a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity where analysis of situations or data requires a review of the variety of factors. FREEDOM TO ACT: Works under general direction on routine work. May receive detailed instructions on new projects or assignments. Follows established procedures. Work is reviewed for soundness of technical judgment, overall adequacy and accuracy. Exercises judgement within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action. IMPACT: Contributes to completion of milestones associated with specific projects. Failure to achieve results or erroneous decisions or recommendations may cause delays in program schedules and may result in allocation of additional resources.
Education and Experience: Bachelors degree in Business and seven (7) years or more experience; Masters and 3 years related experience.
Must be a self-starter with the ability to plan and facilitate meetings, and provide assistance with coordinating planning efforts for project direction. In working with other teams, the employee will coordinate with management to provide input, gather and analyze information from other teams and communicate with NASA management on the meeting outcome and future plans. Must work well with groups and management to help formulate a strategy and help develop initiatives and metrics. Must have the ability to understand Strategic Planning terminology and assist with implementation of planned direction. Must be creative to facilitate brainstorming and assist with continuous improvement of the organization. Must have the ability to see the big picture and understand the details of each team’s organizational initiatives.
Must be proficient with Power Point, Excel, Word and SharePoint, and have experience with configuration management.
