Join SAIC's team that supports the Operations, Maintenance, and Sustainment (OM&S) of North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) Cheyenne Mountain Complex (NCMC) – Integrated Tactical Warning/Attack Assessment (NCMC-ITW/AA) And Space Support Contract II (NISSC II). This position is contingent upon award of contract.
The NISSC II effort establishes requirements for OM&S that support classified communications and processing for Command and Control (C2) capability in organizational work centers at Cheyenne Mountain Air Force Station (CMAFS), Peterson Air Force Base (PAFB), Colorado. The NISSC II OM&S TO also establish requirements for operations and maintenance support for the CMAFS Information Systems Infrastructure.
SAIC is seeking Network Engineer Associates to support installation, operations, maintenance, repairs, and modification of equipment in support of 24X7 Cheyenne Mountain Air Force Station (CMAFS) Mission Maintenance work center by performing a variety of management, maintenance and technical support on products such as equipment, cabling, of integrated systems, and subsystems.
This is a Network Engineer position for the Infrastructure Support Group (ISG) team within the Network Control Center (NCC). This position is responsible for implementing security relevant patches on Cisco and Juniper devices, troubleshooting any and all network issues on both classified and unclassified networks, completing various network related projects and other various maintenance related duties. This individual normally supports 8X5 operations in Cheyenne Mountain Air Force Station (CMAFS). Position may require occasional after hours support in response to unscheduled network/mission system issues.
Other specific tasks this position requires:
Provide Tier 2-3 Network Administration, Design, Engineering, and Integration support of all network infrastructure (to include routers, switches, firewalls, nodes, network management appliances/servers, etc.) across the AFNET NIPR, N-NC NIPR, N-NC SIPR, and NEN enclaves which are under the management and direction of the 21CS.
Provide Tier 2-3 support of all systems and network infrastructure equipment supporting local and N-NC Enterprise services to include all Disaster Recovery (DR) systems located at CMAFS.
Provide Tier 1 Network Administration assistance to sustainment Engineers with regard to support for ITW/AA Systems. This includes Network Administration of CCN ITW/AA network infrastructure at CMAFS, as well as providing remote support for the PAFB, OAFB, Forward Users and Sensor Sites.
Provide Tier 1 Network Administration and Engineering support for Legacy Space Systems. This includes the CCIC2S and CSO WAN systems at CMAFS, VAFB and PAFB.
Provide Tier 2-3 support of 21CS network infrastructure devices providing service to the Vindicator and Video Systems.
Experience performing Infrastructure Administrator responsibilities for 24/7 network infrastructure of systems contained with Cheyenne Mountain Air Force Station.
Extensive knowledge of and experience working with CISCO and Juniper hardware is required. Intimate knowledge of SIPR, NIPR and NEN networks is required. Must be willing to work in a mixed (Government and contractor) crew environment and adhere to a mission critical schedule.
Occasional ability to work non-standard shifts is a requirement. May be asked to support other areas/work centers on NISSC II contract. Selected applicant will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Applicant may be asked to take and pass initial and recurring evaluations to maintain employment.
Thorough understanding of an Enterprise network architecture and internetworking protocols and technology.
Perform monitoring and management of mainframes, networks and workgroup servers. Independently determines and develops approach to solutions with established guidance. Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives.
DoD 8570.01-M IA Workforce Certification Type/Requirements: Candidate must meet minimum certification requirement for DoD Directive 8570, “Information Assurance Training, Certification, and Workforce Management”. This position requires a minimum certification associated with IAT I.
Experience in providing System Administrator support in a Government network infrastructure environment is highly desirable.
Experience with supporting Command and Control environment is desired. Experience cloning and reimaging Windows and Solaris servers is a plus.
Experience with any of the following platforms/applications is also a plus: BEA Weblogic, Oracle database administration, LINUX, ESXi VMWare, Cisco switch platforms and command line proficiency, NetApp, or VSphere Virtual Center Server.
