Description

SAIC’s Corporate Information Technology Office (ITO) is seeking a highly effective technology and people leader to manage the Infrastructure Operations & Cloud Services team.  This leader will have proven experience establishing and maintaining strong operational effectiveness for an enterprise IT organization.  Key support will include oversight of operational metrics, KPI’s, and SLA’s to optimize and mature IT services.  Further, this leader and the team they support will be integral to SAIC’s continued cloud computing journey and will be a critical champion for this overall strategy continuing the on-prem to cloud evolution.  This position is a key contributor role and will report directly to the VP of Infrastructure & Operations.

 

Responsibilities

  • Manage high functioning infrastructure team of cloud computing engineers that are responsible for the complex computing environments that make up a hybrid on-prem and cloud computing environment
  • Execute on the enterprise cloud adoption strategy and work closely with Cybersecurity, Architecture and Delivery teams as a key partner and champion for this activity
  • Drive operational excellence and develop actionable plans to optimize/enhance service quality/SLAs with maximum uptime across all infrastructure environments
  • Domain experience with SOC1/SOC2, NIST, DFARs, and FedRAMP security control requirements, compliance and standards
  • Support continued innovation and sophistication of a Software Defined Data Center (SDDC) and associated software defined technologies including Software Defined Storage (SDS) and Software Defined Network (SDN) technologies
  • Manage the establishment, review, and certification of all back-up and disaster recovery procedures and plans
  • Lead the investigation of Infrastructure service interruptions or outages and play crucial role in root cause analysis and provide solutions for improvement
  • Develop and utilize scorecards and other reporting to regularly monitor KPI and SLA compliance; refine/mature processes to ensure that IT services continue to see maximum uptime
  • Hold relationships with several key vendors and ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of services and products in partnership with these vendor solutions
  • Actively participate in the selection and evaluation of infrastructure-based products/services
  • Adhere to firm change management process, involving quality assurance validation, and techniques and tools to ensure high availability of IT infrastructure
  • Ability to lead multiple, complex initiatives within a fast-paced environment and routinely negotiate with several stakeholders concurrently when priorities change
  • Demonstrate sound business judgment with the ability to take decisive action and problem-solve
  • Possess exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written; able to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical employees
  • Routinely prepare written presentations and verbal reports regarding project status, cost and schedule variances
  • Assist in the development of short-, mid-, and long-term objectives and roadmaps to achieve strategic objectives
  • Actively monitor emerging technologies and trends, standards, and products


Qualifications

  • Bachelors in Information Technology, Systems Engineering or related field plus >10 years as an IT infrastructure technical lead or architect responsible for large scale infrastructure and cloud transformation programs
  • Successfully implemented and supported an enterprise IT operational capability
  • Deep domain knowledge and experience managing the operations and maintenance of multiple physical data centers, virtual and cloud infrastructures
  • Solid understanding of operating systems, Software Defined Data Centers, virtualization hypervisors, datacenter compute & storage hardware
  • Proven experience in developing physical data center and cloud technology roadmaps and strategies
  • Proven people and project manager with a track record of effectively managing infrastructure teams and/or projects with highly successful results

Desired Skills:
  • Advanced education and related Cloud/Infrastructure certifications a plus
  • ITIL Foundations certification
