Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a highly-motivated Civil, Environmental, or Geotechnical Engineer for employment in our Piscataway, NJ office as part of our Remediation engineering department. AECOM is searching for candidates with strong technical and interpersonal skills and the ability to work productively both independently and collaboratively. This position will involve working with environmental engineers and other civil engineers on a variety of projects.

Job Description

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide engineering and design support for remediation projects, and other projects

  • Conduct field exploration, collect samples, analyze data and review samples for laboratory testing

  • Prepare or review engineering related calculations and develop drawings and figures

  • Perform analyses and design, prepare engineering reports, plans and specifications

  • Perform assignments requiring application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria to carry out engineering tasks. Assignments are designed to further develop judgment and understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities

  • Exercise judgment limited to developing details of work in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives

  • Work under supervision of a project manager or senior level team member

  • Demonstrate ability to build trusting working relationships with clients and colleagues

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Geotechnical engineering, or related field

  • 4+ years of geotechnical engineering and experience conducting field exploration

  • Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE)

  • Experience working with a multidisciplinary team of civil & geotechnical engineers, and geologists

  • Experience logging soil borings, performing geotechnical analyses, and writing geotechnical reports

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of the following programs: AutoCAD/Auto Civil3D, gINT, SlopeW, SeepW, Slide, Settle3D

  • 5+ years of geotechnical engineering and experience conducting field exploration

  • Experience writing engineering proposals

  • Experience managing engineering projects

  • Strong verbal communication and technical writing skills

  • Proficiency working with Excel and Word

  • Experience managing construction
