Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Entry Level Geologist for employment in the Long Beach, CA office. The Geologist will support field operations for environmental investigations, remediation implementation and performance monitoring for various oil and gas clients in Southern California. The ideal candidate will have prior experience drilling, soil logging, well installation and soil, groundwater and vapor sample collection. Additionally, this candidate will be willing and able to learn new skills on challenging field assignments in a team work environment.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Field document preparation, field data collection, processing and interpretation.

  • Conducting environmental field work, including soil logging, groundwater sampling, fluid level gauging, and oversight of field surveys, drilling, well installation, development operations and utility clearance for intrusive operations.

  • Supporting office tasks, including data analysis and report preparation.

Minimum Requirements

  • BA/BS + None or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience drilling, soil logging, well installation and soil, groundwater and vapor sample collection

  • Additionally, this candidate will be willing and able to learn new skills on challenging field assignments in a team work environment

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
