AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Sr. Interior Designer for immediate employment for the Tampa, FL office. Our Tampa studio is fun, fast-paced, exciting environment with projects that vary widely in type, scope and complexity. We are looking for a person who wants to apply their passion and enthusiasm for project management in a collaborative and progressive work environment. The Sr. Interior Designer shall have a strong client relationship base within the Florida Gulf Coast Area, and can expect to actively participate in business development and/or industry organizations.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to those listed below:
Responsible for initiating, developing, and completing interior design solutions for assigned projects in conformance with project requirements, applicable codes, and design criteria.
Under minimal supervision, develops interior design schematic design, design development, and construction drawings and specifications.
Applies a solid level of understanding ofthe interior design discipline.
Exercises sound judgment in assessing problem situations or complex design issues, and uses effective approaches for choosing a course of action or developing appropriate solutions.
Pro-level understanding of interior design process in a variety of market types including, but not limited to, corporate workplace interiors.
Understands and applies business development concepts and principles, financial terminology and measures, and provides support for proposals.
Leads or assists with the development of manpower, man-hour, and labor costs requirements for design staff and monitors data to aid in evaluating the budget.
Intermediate knowledge of cost estimating methods, material costs, cost analysis and project budgeting methods.
Full understanding of furniture, fixtures, equipment, and materials. Prepares designs and drawings using accurate construction/fabrication details and methods in accordance with established design practices, standards, and procedures.
Provides technical guidance and assistance to Designers and Technicians.
Reviews completed work with design and drafting personnel responsible for its completion to ensure accuracy and compliance with codes and design data.
Advises the Design Director about status of assignment(s) with respect to schedule, budgets, delays, and adverse problems.
Understands and assists with the planning and scheduling of design tasks associated with assigned project.
Assists in interpreting industry codes and standards, and ensures design and drawing compliance.
Understands the roles of other disciplines in architecture and engineering.
Bachelor's Degree in Architecture or Interior Design and 10+ years of related interior design project experience
FL Interior Design or Architectural License
NCIDQ Certificate Holder
Demonstrated success as a project designer on a range of interiors project types
Experience with all project phases including pre-design through construction administration
Expert knowledge of contract interiors FF+E including manufacturers and dealers
Experience documenting FF+E specifications including budget and procurement administration
Experience in maintaining fiscal accountability of projects
Experienced in maintaining and building new client relationships
Working knowledge of building codes, standards and building structures
Self-starter, leader, manager and mentor on multiple project teams
Able to work and lead a complex team structure
Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch-up or other 3D modeling software
LEED Accreditation required within 12 months of employment
Ability to accommodate regional domestic travel, and potential travel within and outside the U.S.
Ability to communicate design through appropriate media to client and team
