Job Summary

AECOM's Building + Places Group is hiring an Electrical Engineer with Industrial Controls Design for our Des Moines, IA office.

This position is responsible for design/analysis of basic discipline tasks under the supervision of the engineering director, senior project engineer, project leader, project manager. Engineer must have a basic understanding of engineering principles and theory associated with project design and construction document production.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

Designs project’s interior power distribution, lighting, and industrial control system’s architecture.

Ensures discipline plans are created that meet overall project team requirements for project scope and project schedule.

Assist in developing a project plan for each project and thoroughly communicated, understood and utilized by the project team.

Executes directed quality control activities for all elements on a project.

Regularly engages in team meetings, design meetings, and project co-ordination.

Assists in writing project specifications.

Responsible for document production in accordance with project standards.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and 2 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Preferred Qualifications

• Exposure to industrial control architecture design.

• Experience in design of similar facilities (industrial, research facilities)

• Thorough working knowledge of relevant engineering software (Revit and AutoCAD)

• Ability to effectively manage engineering tasks.
