Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Electrical Engineer Intern for employment in the Burnaby, BC office. AECOM is searching for candidates that has the ability to be a role model, be client-focused, be impactful and be decisive.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Support design and specification development for electrical power and distribution systems, lighting and low voltage.

  • Support design and specification of process control devices for various processes including water/wastewater treatment and industrial applications.

  • Assist in the design team achieving engineering deliverables (e.g., drawings, specifications, analysis)

  • Comply with applicable regulations, standards, corporate procedures and sound engineering practices.

  • Work closely with other members of the EIC Design team and other disciplines as an integratedmulti-disciplinary project delivery team

  • Provide design and contract document production support as required.

This position:

  • Builds analytic and design skills.

  • Conducts engineering design under the supervision of an

  • experienced engineer.

  • Creates designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under the supervision of an experienced engineer.

  • Collects and analyzes data under the supervision of an experienced engineer.

  • Uses computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems.

  • Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule under supervision.

Minimum Requirements

  • AA/AS (US) + None or Diploma/Certification (Canada) + None

  • Experience with design tools (AutoCAD/Autodesk)

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
